A note from Michele Ann...

I decided to sponsor a fundraiser day at our salon in dedication to very close friends who have been touched by DVT. Some have been through deaths, others through strokes, and more are presently living with blood clots. The effects of undetected blood clots have touched all ages. It was amazing how many very close friends lives had been touched by DVT. We believed that we could make a difference in people's lives by educating them about DVT with the distribution of pins and information cards, and decorating of socks (made by our salon students) that we display every year at the salon. We have chosen to sponsor a Cut-a-thon at our salon, in which all of the proceeds from the haircuts we execute that day will be donated to help raise awareness, in addition to stylists who are giving their time and talent for the cause. This year will be our 2nd annual event. This year we are especially excited because we have added some new features. We now have professional banners for the sides of our building advertising the DVT AWARENESS Fundraiser day, along with mailing invitations to our current customers as well as our neighbors. We will raffle a "Beauty Basket" for everyone who participates. We look forward to future year's fundraisers being more successful than the last. It is our belief that we are given a talent in order to serve others, we cannot think of a more befitting cause that has especially touched our loved ones lives in which to contribute.
