In this excellent review, leading authorities examine the improved accuracy of new multidetector-row spiral CT scanners in diagnosing pulmonary embolism (and other conditions). This examination is done within the context of reviewing the major strengths and weaknesses of other diagnostic tests in either ruling in our ruling out a pulmonary embolus.
