Mary Amato, Pharm.D., MPH
Dr. Amato obtained her B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Iowa, a Pharm.D from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and a MPH from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She completed residencies in pharmacy practice and ambulatory care and a clinical pharmacy fellowship in primary care. She has directed anticoagulation clinics in a University clinic setting, a VA outpatient clinic setting, and has seen anticoagulation inpatients and outpatients in a large group practice setting. Her research and practice involve pharmacotherapy of primary care patients and she has focused on documenting the effectiveness of clinical pharmacists in managing patients receiving anticoagulants and those with other chronic diseases. Currently she is Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, with a practice site at Brigham and Women's Hospital in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Primary Care.
